Danny Joe "Joey" Nichols
Mr. Nichols died Sept. 25, 2007, in Nacogdoches.
He was born March 26, 1970, in Jacksonville to Danny J. and Shirley Mason Nichols. He lived in Balch Springs and Alto before moving to Nacogdoches about 15 years ago. He graduated from West Mesquite High School and received his master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He taught in the Nacogdoches Independent School District and most recently was an online professor. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leverett and Laura Mason, and S.M. Nichols.
Survivors include his parents, Danny and Shirley Nichols, Balch Springs; brother, Michael Jason "Jake" Nichols, Nacogdoches; grandmother, Sue Nichols, Balch Springs; one nephew, and other relatives.

We had French Class together. I sat on one side, and John was on the other side. Of coarse, he was always near by. :) He was such a good guy and so shy.We had talked just a few years ago on the internet. He was one of the first people I wanted to look up... I was so shocked. He will be missed.
