Lisa passed away in the summer of 1975, after being diagnosed with cancer in our freshman year. She was a dear friend of many of us, a lot of fun to be around and just a young girl with plans and dreams  I still think of her often.

Like Donna said, it was the end of our freshman year. Lisa and I hugged and said our "see ya laters" for the summer. I knew she was going  away ( to the states I think) for some medical stuff. She'd been wearing the long blonde wig for a while. She never talked about it, it just was... and at the innocent age of 15, we were invincible. I will never forget the call at the beginning of the school year when Lisa's brother A.J. called. How was that possible? She was so upbeat, happy and full of joy? That was my first expierience with mortality. I will never forget her, she impacted my life more than she will ever know.

Lolis Garcia (Garcia-Baab)

I remember Lisa so well. We always had so much fun in class together and swimming at La Hacienda or at  one of our houses (one of her favorite things to do although she always got a sunburn!) I remember how she found the lump during social studies class, and the next thing we knew she was in Houston for tests. I don't think any of us ever thought she wouldn't beat the cancer. The call that August to tell us she had passed was one of the worst calls of my life and the first time I had ever lost someone that close to me. I think of her whenever my thoughts turn to AHS and I wonder how her life might have been.
