Russell was co-owner of Gambler-Bang Fishing Products. He was a die/ hard Fresh-Water Bass tournament angler and tackle innovator, who loved Lake Okeechobee(Fl.). Russ won more than 100 Florida tournaments, as well as several regional and national events, including a First-Place finish in the 1986 Bassmadter Florida Invitational on Lake Okeechobee. Russell was a wonderful husband, a great father, and became a grandfather for the first time in December 2003. Broward County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed a " Russ Bringger Day", in honor of his accomplishments & contributions made over the years to their Parks/ Recreation Junior Angler Tournament Trail.
