Laurel Freeman Peres August 23, 1955 - September 17, 2012 Obituary Laurel Freeman Peres, 57, of Salado, died Sept. 17, 2012, at a local hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Salado United Methodist Church, Royal Street, Salado. The Rev. Travis Franklin will be officiating. Services will be at the historic chapel. Laurel was born in Monahans, Texas, on Aug. 23, 1955. She attended schools in Waco and graduated from Lee High School in Midland. After marrying, she made her home in Corsicana and Rockport. Laurel was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She is survived by her two sons, Todd Pfister and wife, Shelley, of San Antonio, and Kyle Pfister of Austin; and daughter, Courtney Peres of San Marcos and Salado. She was the proud grandmother to Emma Claire and Giselle Pfister. Also surviving are her parents, Larry and Pat Freeman of Salado; sisters, Valerie Lowe and husband, Rex, of Plano, and Kimberly Spiro and husband, Philip, of Manchester, N.H. Additionally, she had two loving nephews, Chris Miller and Connor Spiro and two nieces, Katie Hinchey and Caroline Spiro. Laurel had many cousins that were children of her deceased uncle, Ron Gregory of Waco. Memorials may be made to Salado United Methodist Church, PO Box 771, Salado, 76571, or a charity of your choice.
