I was so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. Such a nice guy, always had a smile on his face. I'm glad we had a chance to catch up at the last reunion. RIP, and condolences to his family😞.
Dear MHS classmates, I echo your sentiments about Steve he was always very upbeat and friendly as I remember. I was able to help Steve's mom with some needed repairs before I retired and we talked about him a little bit and hopefully she relayed my greetings to him.
We're all getting to that advanced stage of life where it sure ain't easy to keep loosing our loved ones and friends. Sure wish it wasn't so hard to accept but what else can we do? Only thing I can think of is to wish all our classmates good health much happiness and relish the connection we have as the class of '71❣️
May his soul be blessed and find peace as we remember our friendship of Steve 🙏🏼
Sending thoughts of sympathy and love to all Steven's family and friends.
I would like to echo Rich Boyd's remembrance. I met Steve before kindergarten because our older sisters were best friends in second grade. We graduated together with Rich on the same day from UC Davis. At my first day of graduate school at UCLA I looked around for them both! I'm so happy I was able to spend time with Steve at the 50th. Such a wonderful man. Heartfelt condolences to the Grady family.
Mainly played poker with Steve at his home and remember him as being a talented athlete. He looked so good at the last reunion. I hope and pray he was a christian. Please don't be offended by this as we all post what memories we have for Steve and all of our classmates. Peace to you all...
This hit hard. I have known Steve since early elementary school. Heart goes out to his family and friends. Early on, one knew he was a gifted athelete. Looks like golf was his game. So glad I was able to see him at our class reuinion a few years ago. At an earlier reunion, our 30th, he still remembered our old phone number. Good memory. God speed, Steve. See you on the flip side.
Steve Grady----The man with two first names----And two such nice friendly names---Every Grady I’ve ever known was such an amazing guy and almost every Steve I’ve known was the same, so how could Steve Grady be anything but a beautiful bright light in this world------It’s been a few weeks now since the notice of his death popped into my inbox and to be honest I pretty much just blew it off. I mean Steve and I weren’t friends----We were in the same class at BIS but I don’t remember ever even talking to him there and at Mills we might have spoken less than a dozen times in those four years---But after High School I’d run into Steve every few years in Burlingame---It’s be one of those “Hey Larry Is that you? And I’d be ya but who are you---Wait---Are you Steve---We’d talk for a few minutes then be on our way---and after every single encounter I’d leave with such a good feeling inside----Paul Bjonerud was a good friend of mine at Mills and when I moved back to Burlingame in 1979 I read his obituary in the San Mateo Times and was sad but even though Steve and I were never as close as Paul and I were somehow Steve’s death has hit me harder----Maybe cause we all know that we’ve lived more years than we are going to and Steve’s death is forcing me to face my own mortality---I’m not sick and have no health issues that I’m aware of---other than the doctor telling me to lose weight and stop drinking so much beer---But somehow it’s hard to believe I won’t run into Steve again whenever I’m back in Burlingame---I just pulled out my BIS year books from 1965-1966 and 1966-1967 along with Our Class of 1971 Graduation Commencement Book / Mills High Buzz Book / Senior Hand Book and a couple of class reunion books from the 20 year reunion at the Hyatt Regency in 1991 and the 30 year reunion at the Embassy Suites and looked up Steve’s pictures----I have such fond memories of High School and remember speaking to Steve and again leaving every conversation with him with a such a good feeling--------Steve---From my perspective you made this world a better place while you were here----Well at least for me----Best wishes to your family
