We regret having missed the passing of Tip.  He passed away in 2019.

Funeral services for Horace "Tip" Franklin Jr., 71, were conducted Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville, with the Rev. James Dickey, the Rev. Mr. Franklin was a lifelong resident of Georgia. He was predeceased by his parents, Horace Warren Franklin Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Hubbard Franklin; sister, Carol Batlann; and brother, Ira Franklin. He was a Marine, a firefighter and an emergency medical technician and enjoyed cattle farming. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Johnson Franklin; children, Chris Hawthorne and husband Jay of Gordon; Ira W. Franklin of Milledgeville; Katie Howe and husband Josh of Columbus; and Diane Baker and husband David of Gray; grandchildren, Christian Hawthorne, Will Franklin, Asa Franklin, Noah Franklin, Savannah Howe, Ren Howe, Jocelyn Baker, Danielle Baker and Wyatt Baker; sisters, Maryann Brown, Janie Butler and Vickie Yates; aunt, Ernestine Carr of Milledgeville; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.
