I just found out that a dear friend and neighbor of mine passed away today. Eric Sean Jackson was a friend and brother to me who graduated from Rufus King High School, Stanford undergrad and UW Madison Law School. You will be missed Brother. Rest in Peace. Prayers
When David called me about Eric, I said no, I don't believe you. This can't be right, Are you sure? He was upset, now I am upset and now I am crying as he tells me again. As he explains, I am in shock, I don't believe him. I flash to the last time Eric, Lena and I had dinner when he was in town and it could not be true. I ask again, Is there anyting I can do? His mother has to be told...It's real...Lena knows...who next to be told? I need to notify Ed. Wow, This is not happening. As I sit on my stairs and cry, we are not that old, this is not ... not again...tomorrow is not promised to anyone...tell your loved ones you love them now today! Don't wait!
A few years ago Eric and I discovered that my oldest son and one of his nephew's were best friends. When my son came and told me to pray for his best friend on Friday because one of his uncle's passed away, I was so shocked and saddened to find out it was Eric. We had been communicating on FB from time to time as we shared political perspectives and he wrote me the most beautiful birthday message back in April. He was one of my first friends at King and I will always remember him and the wonderful person and loving father he was.
I am sooo sorry of this announcement of Eric’s passing. I am at a loss of words and my heart is broken. I extend my condolences to his mom, children, family and many friends.
Eric had helped and guided me in advocating for my son. I have a son who lives with autism, IEPs and many other issues. He reached out to personally pray for me during my health crisis and also just to say hi simply because “I crossed his mind God needed him to reach out to me.” Eric was truly favored by the Love of God. He was a very motivated person, great father to his children. He loved his siblings mom family friends. I will miss him dearly. I feel truly blessed to have known him.
