Phyllis L Bartelt (Ernest) - Class Of 1943

Ernest, Phyllis L. (Nee Bartelt) A 55 year resident of Whitefish Bay. Passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012, at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife for 61 years of the late Lawrence Ernest. Loving mother of Kathy (Greg) Huibregtse, Judy (the late Patrick) Sackett, Patty (Joe) Vanden Plas, Jennifer (Dave) Peltz, Tom (Barb) Ernest and the late Andrew Ernest. Proud grandmother of Kristin (the late Peter)Antaramian, Jason (Joana) Huibregtse, Brian Huibregtse, Travis (Nicole) Sackett, Kyle Sackett, Lindsay Vanden Plas, D.J. Peltz, Shannon Ernest, Michelle Peltz, Bill Ernest, Samantha Peltz, and Elizabeth Ernest. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Phyllis was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School, Milwaukee, WI and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from The University of Wisconsin, Madison 1949. Phyllis was an avid cook, camper, rug hooker, tennis player,dog owner and community servant who enjoyed everything life had to offer all along the way. She served the Whitefish Bay community in elected office for 15 years, six years as a school board member and nine years as a village trustee. Phyllis was chairman of the Renovation Committee for both Silver Spring Drive and Klode Park during the 1980s. She was also a past president of the Whitefish Bay Women's Club, Civic Foundation, and numerous School Parent Groups. Phyllis was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be thoroughly missed by everyone who loved her. Private Family Services with interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. If desired, memorials to the Zoological Society of Milwaukee appreciated.
