Our hearts ache and our loss is quite profound with the sudden and unexpected passing of our beautiful and so very special Mama!!!

Reflections of her laughter, her gentleness, her silliness, her unique ability in being such a great listener, her optimism, her true eagerness in always being happy for her children in pursuing their dreams and endeavors, her fantastic sense of humor, her simpleness, her insatiable guiding love and caring heart, her calming spirit and un-believable good nature along with her amazing "good sport" attitude have all been such treasures in our lives and to those who knew her.

In our Mama's (Marion's) richly filled 86 years she was a beautiful, unique and very colorful tapestry!! She pursued so very many interests including water ballet star, executive secretary, wife, homemaker, Mother, gardener, decorator, seamstress (even for tiny dolls), astonishing cook, prized blue ribbon baker, heavenly pancake and waffle maker, scout leader, den mother, PTA Board member, endless transporter, phenomenal homework helper, marvelous hostess and entertainer and even at 86 years old a weekly prized scrabble player!! Even up to last Christmas, she still delighted our taste buds with heavenly tasting prized Christmas Stollen that she baked and so filled with her enduring love (THERE WAS NONE BETTER).

Christmas always brings to mind one of our most cherished childhood traditions with her. With Pajamas on, popcorn popped with butter and a thermos of hot chocolate we were off and away for hours of driving to see all the radiant beauty of Christmas lights throughout the City.

Any body of water including rivers, lakes and oceans was a love of hers. During her youth and into her adulthood, she spent wonderful years with her sister Elaine and her parents each summer on the Rock River in Janesville at the "Cottage". It represented a place of such tranquility and harmony and always filled with love. The tranquility, love and harmony came from Marion's and Elaine's parents, Walter and Anita, as there were no finer people than the two of them!!

Boy oh boy, our Mama (Marion) was the collector extraordinaire!! Cook books from A to Z, items of whimsy, little pigs, monkeys and tiny fairies in flight! A watermelon room filled with memorabilia of ripe delight! Dollhouses and a playhouse and itty bitty mice all added such joy for all in sight! She also pursued hobbies galore including artistic egg artist, talented painter and miniature room enthusiast and so much more!!

Mama (Marion) had heartfelt compassion for all creatures small and tall two legged and four! She was such a fine and loving dog owner for herself (4 times) and exquisite dog Grandma (3 times)!

Mama (Marion) was an interesting lady and always eager to engage in learning and being current on a full range of topics. She was fun and easy to converse with. One of her many interests was embracing and understanding the beliefs of the American Indian.

When she came upon a stranger she would meet, she would welcome them, she was so warm hearted, funny and so well liked! Friendships were so treasured and valued in her colorful circle of deep and lasting connections.

Mama (Marion) had such fondness for taste bud indulgences; drives to Leon's Frozen Custard Stand (the best custard in her opinion), Mars Cheese Castle for those delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, thick chocolate malts, corn on the cob, Susie's meatloaf, and "yes" she was the Wisconsin State Fair Cream Puff Queen Connoisseur, and "yes" she loved crisp juicy summer watermelons (black seeds and all).
Mama's (Marion's) physical absence comes with such great loss but Mama (Marion) surrounds us each and every day. When we gaze at the marvel of a sunrise or the brilliance of a sunset – WE FEEL HER WARMTH AND RADIANT LOVE!! She gives us hope as well!!

Our Mama's (Marion's) soulful love is like that of Monet's Garden which is filled with such a sensation of wonder, beauty and awe comprising of flower buds bursting into a magical mesmerizing bloom of calm and inner reflection, so steadfast and true year after year after year! Or she comes to mind with the grace and indescribable feeling when one comes upon a mother doe with her fawn becoming so observant and so protective with her unconditional steadfast love and care!

Mama's (Marion's) love and the bond we so proudly hold with her is truly forever!! What she has given us and all that she was and still is, is how we honor her by remembering her through her loving essence and positive energy that she continues to radiate all around us. For us, these are a true privilege, a true gift and a precious blessing for all eternity!!! We cannot imagine a love more valuable or a gift more everlasting than that of our Mama (Marion).

No Memorials Please! Perhaps just take a moment to really reflect today in "Paying It Forward" with a loving kindness given by yourself! And after that, you might just want to indulge in some Leon's Frozen Custard – you know that Mama (Marion) would be smiling!!!!
