Thomas Dinges - Class Of 1963 VIEW PROFILE

Thomas Dinges, age 73, died Sunday February 18, 2018 at Bethel Home and Services in Viroqua.

 Sample ImageThomas Robert Dinges of Milestone assisted living in Hillsboro, died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Bethel Home in Viroqua after a long battle with complications of Parkinson’s Disease and associated Lewy Body Dementia.

 

Thomas was the second of three children born to George Harvey and Margaret Jane (Hansen) Dinges. He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee, WI, the class of 1963. Thomas enlisted and served his country after high school in the U.S. Army. When he returned stateside, after his tour in the Korean Conflict and an honorable discharge, he became a police officer in Milwaukee. He then owned and operated a health food store in Brookfield, Wisconsin. In later years, Tom worked as a realtor in Milwaukee at Dinges & Associates Realty alongside his mother. Thomas was an accomplished athlete and competed in many sports and sporting events over the years with a particular affinity for triathlons (swimming, cycling and running). He also loved dogs and raised & trained several German Shepherds to be Police Dogs. One in particular named “Rip” was very well known throughout the Milwaukee police force.

 

Thomas was united in marriage to Mary Ann Encarguez in November of 1999 after meeting her and falling in love in the Phillipines. He brought Mary Ann and her two nephews, whom he loved deeply to the United States, adopting both boys as his own sons. Mary Ann and Thomas were then blessed with a daughter of their own, beloved Krysberly.

 

Thomas loved the Mormon Church. He was baptized in the church on September 20, 1998 and became an Elder in 1999. He was raised to a High Priest in June of 2000 and endowed that same month. He often quoted Mosiah 5:15 from the Book of Mormon

“Be steadfast and immovable always abounding in good works”.

 

Thomas is survived by his brother George; his sister Carol Margaret; his wife Mary Ann; and three children, Ezekel (21), Kenneth (19) and Krysberly (14). He is further survived by numerous Brothers and Sisters in the church, as well as many friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father and members of the Dinges and Hansen families.

 

Funeral Services for Thomas will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Vosseteig Funeral Homes’ Henthorn Memorial Chapel, 129 S. Main St. in Viola. President Ryan Johnson, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, will preside, with burial following the service at the Viola City Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to Humanitarian Aid, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
