Obituary for Raymond David Julkowski
Raymond D. Julkowski passed away December 5, 2024 peacefully at his home from heart failure. Ray (Bud) as many called him, was born on January, 23, 1942 in Minneapolis Minnesota to Raymond and Eleanor Julkowski. He attended Holy Cross grade school, DeLaSalle High School and served in the Navy for 2 years. He went on to graduate from St. Cloud University then worked as a insurance adjuster specializing in workers comp for over 30 years. He had many stories and loved being able to help people injured on the job. He married Geraldine Howat in 1967 and they built their first home in Columbus Township, Forest Lake. They lived there for many years and Ray was active on the Columbus planning commission. He proudly served as Grand Knight for the Forest Lake Knights of Columbus for several years. His true loves were his wife and 3 sons and their wives and the beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren they gave him. He never missed a chance to watch his sons wrestle or play football and was great at cheering them on. Old cars were a true passion for him and was very proud of his 65 Mustang convertible which he reluctantly sold when he moved to Applewood Point in Shoreview in 2015. He is survived by his wife Geraldine, their 3 sons, Jeffrey (Killian), Joseph (Leanna), James (Rachel), and grandchildren Jax, Grier, Kai, Kiana Smith (Andy), and great grandchildren Roy and Rosie Smith. Ray will be remembered as kind hearted and always willing to help anyone in need.
