Robert J. Kirwan

Kirwan, Robertage 77 of Fridley. Retired 35 year employee of the Star Tribune Newspaper where he worked as a mailer. Bob was very active as a Union Steward and Officer. Over the years, he made many lifelong friendships. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had a deep faith in God. Bob's passion was for the North Shore, BWCA and Conservation of our National Parks. He was a graduate of De La Salle High School and a student at the University of Minnesota. He loved all sports, especially the Golden Gophers and the Vikings. In his later years, he started to play the Irish Bodhran (drum) showing his great love for all music. Bob's last year was spent at the New Brighton Care Center where he made many new friends due to his warm personality and great smile. He will be missed by many. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Annette; children, Sean (Denise) Kirwan, Kelly Ann Kirwan, Shannon Kirwan, Kristi Erin Kirwan; sisters, Jacqueline Baker, Jean Marie Kinzel; sister in law, Joan Newbert; nieces; nephews; cousins; and special friend, Tim Vescio. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Oct 7 at 10:30AM with visitation one hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton.
