Terrance Michael Layer 

Layer, Terrance Michael was born on January 7th, 1942, He died peacefully on April 14th 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN but crossed the River into St Paul to marry the love of his life, Cleo Patricia Hagan Layer, where together they raised four daughters. Bridget (Jim) Sampair, Erin Layer (Jim) Murray, Tara (Tom) Motzel, Courtney Layer (Chris Roy). He was the proud "Bumpa" to ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Basil (Anissa), Lucas, and Cecelia Sampair. Ryan, Nicholas (Maddison), Vincent and Joseph Motzel. Lauren, Benjamin and Maeve Brusky. Great granddaughter Lennon Sampair. Terry is also survived by brothers Jim (Judy), Dennis (Mary), Kevin, Brian (Joan), Paul, and John (John). Sisters Debby Layer, Susie (Dick) Milnar, Katy (Greg) Preusse, Marcy Stockinger, Eileen DeMaria and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by Rowdy his faithful companion. Terry was preceded in death by his father Mort Layer and mother Margaret Layer. Tim Stockinger and Pat and Mollee Layer. Terry spent most of his career at Honeywell in the Underseas Systems Division and completed his career as a Peer Recovery Mentor at Park Ave Center. Terry enjoyed spending time with his family at the Layer cabin on Mille Lacs Lake and later at his place in Breezy Point MN. Terry's family would like to thank Minnesota Hospice for their support during this difficult time. Visitation 9:30am-11:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of Our Lord in St Paul MN on Saturday April 22, 2023. Terry will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights MN. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to The Jesuit Novitiate, 1035 Summit Ave, St Paul MN 55105.
