My brother Jim died in a car accident on January 29, 1966. With him in the car, and also killed was classmate Tom (“TL”) Murlowski. The accident occurred near Elk River, MN. Both were students at St. Cloud State. My brother had attended the “U” but struggled there. He seemed to be doing well at St. Cloud. I think Jim Kelly was also going there at that time.
Jim had worked on cars since he was a kid. He had jobs at numerous gas stations over the years, and was active in the Stock Blocks car club. So it was kind of ironic that that was how he died.
He was the only brother his 4 sisters had. I live in the Philadelphia area; the other three are still in the Twin Cities.
I hope you have a nice reunion. Unfortunately I don’t specifically recall either of you two, but I appreciate your sharing your memories of my brother.
