Levesque, Michael Leslie SAN DIEGO -- Mike died peacefully on October 24, 2013 at the age of 48. He was born in Redondo Beach on October 21, 1965 and raised in Mission Viejo, the first son of Normand and June Levesque. He graduated from USC in 1989 and married Julie Brumfiel on February 4, 1994. They have three children: Reed, Kyle and Owen. He moved his young family to San Diego in 1998. Mike spent his twenty-year career doing what he loved best, building homes. He served in various capacities for both private and public builders, including Lennar Corporation where he served as Regional Vice President. He also served as President and Senior Executive in the San Diego market for Greystone Homes, as well as Chief Operating Officer for Davidson Communities. Mike helped design and construct some of San Diego's most successful master plan developments as well as single family homes and cared deeply about creating thoughtfully designed neighborhoods where families could "dwell and grow." Mike wrote, "Building is tangible, gratifying and real. I am fortunate to work in a industry that contributes to the quality of people's lives." In 2011, he co-founded Michael Gregory Builders and proudly opened the company's first community last month. He also held various leadership roles for the building industry including President of the Building Industry Association (BIA), and positions in the California Building Industry Association (CBIA) and National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB). He served as Chairman of the BIA Political Action Committee (BIA-PAC) from 2006-2009. Under his leadership, the industry's critical political fund more than tripled in resources, growing to be the largest in California. Mike was a trusted and supportive boss and colleague, cherished son, brother and friend, skilled athlete, avid fisherman, host extraordinaire, USC football fan, and, above all, a dedicated and tender husband and father. Mike is survived by his wife Julie Brumfiel Levesque, children Reed, Kyle and Owen, parents Normand and June Levesque, sister Monique (Michael) Black, brother Matt (Jodi) Levesque, parents-in-law Robert and Marilyn Brumfiel, brother-in-law Robert (Karen) Brumfiel, and a wide circle of colleagues and friends that adored him. Mike will be honored in a Memorial Service on November 6, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at The Village Community Presbyterian Church, 6225 Paseo Delicias, Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
