Laurie (Laurel) Patton passed away in 1998 after a four year battle with leukemia. She was a high school teacher in Shelley, Idaho for 9 years when diagnosed in 1994.
Laurie was my best friend for 1st grade through High School. I took her to school as my Show and Tell when she first came to Missoula in 1st grade. We went to different universities so we only saw each other on holidays during college. I am sorry that we did not see each other much after college when we both moved to different states. My youngest daughter, Laurel, is named after her.
I had Laurie Patton as a student teacher at Hamilton High School. She was fun, spirited, and a very talented teacher. I was very sorry to hear of her illness and death. Sometimes God takes the best too early! I know I really loved this young lady and and I just felt I should let you all know what a great person she was and truly great educator!! I think of her often and smile, what a great sense of humor!
