Deborah Sue (Ring) Kubes                                             Deborah Sue Kubes obituary, 1955-2025, East Bernard, TX

November 16, 1955 - December 4, 2025

Debbie was born in Missoula, the youngest of four girls, to Stanley and Henrietta Ring on November 16,1955. She attended C.M. Russell Grade School. She graduated in 1974 from Sentinel High School.

Shortly after graduation, Debbie enlisted in the US Navy. She was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii, where she spent three years serving her country. It was there she met James "Tex" Kubes. The couple was married October 1978. Their son, Jimmy, was born 1981. Debbie worked as a bank teller throughout her life.

Debbie and Tex traveled and worked in multiple states that ranged from Washington to Arizona to California to Louisiana with the final relocation in Texas. Debbie made many lifelong friends and had many adventures.

Debbie was known for her beautiful handwork, making intricate Christmas stockings for many of the young members of the family to the cross stitch pieces she gave to other lucky family members. She was also known for her potato salad and her fudge (requested every Christmas by Tex's co-workers).

In 2024 she and Tex moved for the last time to their dream home in East Bernard, TX, building on the acquired 10 acres they received on the family ranch. She decorated their barndominium beautifully using a country theme.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and father-in-law Frank.

She is survived by her husband, James "Tex" Kubes; son, James "Jimmy" Kubes (Christina); grandson, lil Jimmy; sisters, Linda Wolfe (Tim), Judy Hotchkiss (Ken), Julie Thompson (Scott); mother-in-law, Rosalee and her only first cousin, Alida Wright. Debbie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends, all of whom will miss her tremendously. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life at the family home in Missoula will be announced for summer 2026.
