Ramon Garbett, a beloved husband and father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Ocalla, Florida. Born on September 23, 1948, in Moline, Illinois to Roy and Bernice Garbett. Raymon lived a life full of kindnessm passion, and unwavering dedication to those around him.
Raymon graduated from Southern Illinois University and, after two years of teaching, he began a successful career with John Deere, devoting over 30 years to the company. He retired from Deere & Company as Manager of Marketing Information, where he was responsible for new product introductions, including creating product information manuals, producing videos, and organizing new product introduction at dealer shows. His contributions left an enduring legacy of leadership and expertise.
  In 1971, he married Patricia DeMay and shared 16 years of marriage until her passing in 1987. Together, they had two sons, John and Jim. In 1988 he married Kaye, and they had blended their families, adding her two sons, Chad and Chris Dunn.
  Ray was an avid fisherman from an early age, and he loved spending time fishing with all his family. He also enjoyed golf, and being in Florida in the winter which made it possible to play year-round.
  Surviving Ray are his wife, Kaye, his sons, John and Jim(''brooke); Step-son Chad Dunn (Becky); his broither, James (Sharon); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Caley Blake (Chris), Lily, Andrew, and Michael, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, his first wife, Patricia; setp-father, Kenneth Pearson, and his step-son Chris Dunn.
  A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2025, at Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline, IL
Family and friends are invited for visitation at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 pm.
Interment will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens. In liew of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, honoring Ray's generous spirit and love for helping others.
