Charles E. Hill, 60, of Moline, died Nov. 16, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Care and Control or American Cancer Society.

Chuck was born Dec. 30, 1948, in Moline, to Roy S. Hill and Molly Brown. He later was raised by his mother and stepfather, Les Brown.

Chuck worked at JMTC Joint Munitions Training Center as a welder at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was an Army veteran and an avid Harley rider.

He is survived by son, Chad DeWitte, Rock Island; brothers, Dave (Tracy) Brown, Moline, and Ron (Peggy) Hill, Conway, Ark.; sisters, Margie Preston, Moline, and Kay (Glen) Jewell, Indiana; many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ed Brown.
