I am so grateful that I kept in touch with Kathy through the years. I moved here right before high school and Kathy befriended me at Sacred Heart and her family took me in as one of their own. We began playing tennis and Kathy transfered with me to MHS after a year at Alleman. Kathy was a terrific tennis player and the tennis team was a main focus for both of us. Kathy left the QC for college and then worked and lived in Chicago and San Francisco. She and her wife Shauna retired to Sacramento about 5 years ago. Kathy returned home regularly to see her folks and brothers and I am so glad our friendship continued as she was struck in these past few years with a debilitating illness. I am so grateful to have visited her in California in June. Though she had lost her ability to speak, her radiant smile was still ever-present.
