Carol Ann Baker Adams...The ONCE in a lifetime kind of person
Regardles of where or when she came into your life, she could make you see the sun where ONCE you saw clouds.  She was the kind of person that believed in you so much, you had no choice but to believe in yourself.
You only had to meet her ONCE to be her 'Once In A Lifetime Friend'.
Carol was the driving force behind the organization of Monahans High School Class of 1965 Reunion Registry.  Her superior organizational skills and determination to contact every 1965 Graduate and Friend of the Class of 1965, made it possible for monumental REUNIONS, 65'er Gatherings, and this...The MHS Class of 1965 Website.

Carol's genuine love and concern for and contributions to her classmates and friends
will always be remembered and cherished as one of the best
'Once In A Lifetime Friendships'.

Carol Ann (Baker) Adams, 70, passed away March 8, 2017, in Midland. A celebration of her life will be held at The Branch at NPW, 3800 N. Big Spring St. Midland on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:00PM.

Carol was born on January 4, 1947, in Midland to Billie Ann and Kenneth Baker. She loved all types of music and had a collection of over 6,000 songs. Carol loved just being alive and being involved with people, especially her family. She organized several family reunions and helped bring back to life the Monahans High School Class of 1965 reunions. Carol was an avid volleyball player at Monahans and Midland Lee High School. She graduated from Lee and went to West Texas State in Canyon on a volleyball scholarship. In the seventies, she was on the USA team at the Pan Am games. She eventually graduated college at University of Texas, Arlington.

Carol always had a very positive attitude about life. During her four year fight with cancer, she said several times that she had very few regrets and that her last thoughts would be “Wow, what a ride!!”

Carol married Jerry H. Adams in New Orleans on March 7, 1993, and he survived her. She is also survived by her daughter, Carissa Hale and husband Todd of Arlington; stepson, Bradley Adams and wife, Annie of Garland; daughter-in-law Marla Brown of North Hollywood, CA; brother, Bill Baker and wife, Loretta Baker of Midland; mother-in-law, Johnnie Carroll of Plano; sister-in-law, Bonita Spivey and husband, James of Plano; grandsons, Kavan Adams, Isaiah Adams, Keondre Low and Jeffrey Brown; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will miss and always remember her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Ann and Kenneth Baker; grandparents, Ila and Houston Hill; Margaret and Homer Baker.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Midland; Dr. Mangat and his staff at Texas Oncology and Dr. Miller and his staff at Permian Cardiology.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.

Carol Ann could be intimidating (as I remember her when I first moved to Monahans in 1959) but she was actually so very loving, motivated and friend to all of us.  Yes, the stars twinkle a little brighter with her looking down on us all.  Such a privilege to know her.  I shake my head at all she was able to accomplish in her life. Class of 1965 is much stronger and better motivated to reach out to each other because of Carol Ann's drive.  My condolences Jerry and family.

I am very saddened to hear of Carol Ann's passing.  She was the most energetic
Whirlwind.  She would not let anyone be forgotten or left out of an event.
She made sure that even with a broken hip, I would go to our 50th reunion.
My thoughts & prayers are with her loved ones, especially Jerry.  RIP my friend.

Carol Ann was an absolute force of nature for the good. She was the catalyst that caused events to occur, classmates to become involved, and a plan is to be formed. She was more organized than most of us and delegated in a kind way. The beneficiaries of all of her hard work were always her classmates who had the opportunity to  rekindle old friendships and catch up on the Class.

She was a great and kind friend and will be greatly missed! Jerry – Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Harold

Carol Ann was one of the sweetest people in our class! She always had a warm smile and a friendly thought to share with all who met her. Her loss will be felt by one and all . My deepest condolences go out to Jerry and the family . There's a special place in Heaven for people like Carol Ann . And if we are lucky enough to get there she might just be one of those who greets us at the gate with that smile. God Bless her !

Carol Ann is the kind of girl who subscribes to the “go big or go home” principle of doing life. She chose big. And we all benefited. She birthed the idea of a big old reunion for our 30th, and I figure she buttonholed every member of the Class of '65 (and many non-members) and invited (i.e. required) us to come and celebrate together. We did then, and again for the 40th, the 45th, and the 50th; along the way she inspired many of us to work with her. She and Janet, and I think Bev and Jane conspired to create a memory book, and she amassed collections of music to share. She made sure that we stayed in touch between reunions by recruiting Sue J. for coordinating emails, and then our wonderful webmaster, Sue Mc for our website. Carol Ann gave us the gift of connection, and her legacy remains strong and vital. So for that, for your friendship and for your caring, thank you Carol. We owe you. Big. Jerry, I'm sending my love, thoughts and prayers to you.
