From:  Jim Nichols Facebook Post:

It is with a sad heart that I let our friends know that my sweet wife Sheila passed away this morning. Sheila has been fighting cancer for the last two and a half years. Two weeks ago on Mother’s Day she suffered a major stroke and has been struggling ever since.
My wife was such a wonderful and loving person, in four weeks we would have been married for 52 years.
She was my little West Texas Sweetheart, my best friend, and to others, Mother, Grandmother, Mother in law, Sister in law, Aunt, friend, and the center piece of our family.
We met on a blind date in 1969 and for me it was love at first site, not so much for her. I had to chase her for 3 months before she said yes. We had to wait until the following summer to save for the wedding.
My family and myself want to thank our family and friends for their thoughts, prayers, and support over the last 2 years.

Services and Obituary are Pending and will be posted when available.

To Jim and all of Sheila's family, I'm so sad to think of your great loss. I didn't have the good fortune to know Sheila after high school, but it was my great good fortune to be in her company for a few years. She was remarkable; everything she touched was golden, and everything she did was just kind of perfect. And she did a lot. She worked really hard, and put her all into whatever was in front of her. But what was more impactful, as I reflect on it, was not so much what she did, but who she was. Just being around her, goofy as we were, you knew that here was someone special. As Sue Hamm said, she never heard Sheila say a bad thing about anybody. I don't think she did; I'm not sure she had it in her. There was a core of goodness, of integrity, of non-judgmental-ness that you realized on some level, and it made you want to do better, to be better. I know that you got to live with that sweetness, and I hope that it comforts you in your grief. Blessings to all of you who loved her.
