Sue Lancaster, age 69 of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 23rd at First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, October 22nd at Morehart Mortuary.

Helen Sue Shelton was born April 3, 1947 in Matador, Texas to Cecil Shelton and Grace Evelyn Woods Shelton.… On June 16, 1967, Sue married Richard Lancaster in Monahans, Texas. In 1975, they left Monahans and made their home in Breckenridge. She worked as a counselor at the Walker Sayle Unit until her retirement. Sue was a member of First Baptist Church and loved taking care of her grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Grace Shelton; one brother, Wayne Shelton, and one sister, Mary Francis Shelton.

Sue is survived by her husband, Richard Lancaster of Breckenridge; three children, Christina Lancaster Teague of Breckenridge, Leann Lancaster Owens of Clyde, Jordan Lancaster and fiancé Jessica Harris of Breckenridge; one sister, Evelyn Smallwood of Matador; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Lancaster and wife Cathy of Abilene; two grandchildren, Devin Roberts and husband Aaron of Abilene, Rex Owens and wife Heaven of Clyde; four great grandchildren, Emrie Polley, Jemma Lancaster, Audrey Owens, Gavin Owens and one more on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
