IN MEMORY

Carolyn Warren

“It was privileged to know my sister, CAROLYN WARREN, for 22 short years.” David Warren, Carolyn’s brother went on to tell us, “She passed away September, 1968.

Having Carolyn as my “big sister” was wonderful…..she was always “there” for me. I remember Carolyn as being unique and special when compared to all the other girls I knew. To describe Carolyn as being “Head Strong” is probably an understatement. She certainly knew what she wanted in life and had a plan to get there! She was also definitely her own boss. (And, my boss as well!)

An unforgettable family history moment occurred when I was little. I was buggin’ Carolyn about something…irritating her...as little brothers do...so she shoved me in the closet, locked it and left! Funny, I can’t remember who let me out but I definitely remember that she was not going to put up with me aggravating the tar out of her!

Carolyn dealt with life ‘head on’. I liked that about her! She loved life and even loved school. She had so many, many friends. She was a happy, creative and loving person and enjoyed being with her family and friends. The one thing I will always remember is how so many of her friends were ‘there’ for Carolyn when she needed you all the most!

A cool thing has happened as the years have gone by......I have begun to see Carolyn in the attitudes and ways of my two daughters and son. Without knowing it, they will say something or turn and look at me and suddenly, there she is.....still very much a part of my life. That’s a good thing!”

Carolyn,

I still miss you and all the fun we had. I don't understand why you had to leave us so soon...I think about you often.

My Dearest Carolyn......... we had soooooo much fun our senior year.  You in Monahans and me in Midland.  Sometimes I couldn't remember which school I was really suppose to be going to. Being roomates our freshman year at ASU was the best ! !  It took a very special person to put up with all my antics.  I remember that  special weekend at the Texas-OU game in Arlington. We had a blast !  I love and miss you my dear friend.

 Dear Carolyn,

I remember the day that I heard.. it was cold.. i was in Alpine.  I remember what an awful feeling. I by chance came upon your picture.. the thoughts are those that challenge my vocabulary.. it just does not seem that there is a word.. You were one of the first girls that I truly felt a very strong emotion for.. I still can truly identify what that emotion is.. i think probably a combination of love and honor and respect.  You taught me much.. mostly you helped me learn to say what I feel and to realize that there is not always a tomorrow.  I remember what a great family you had..and how comfortable they made us all feel.. anyone would be proud to have "Buthcie" as a brother.. and Oh My God, not to mention the privilege of having you in our lives.. I wish I had been able to see your children and grandchildren.. I will always remember you and that you had the softest lips I ever kissed..  i must quit.. you are making me cry.. r jackson
