Hey Burnes! You were supposed to make it to the 50th reunion!.
Here was a guy who could make you laugh by saying anything, reading the phone book. I remember him best for his between-classes monologues. Senior year it was all about 'our boys in Vietnam!'.
Burnes decided to honor our boys in Vietnam with a song, "From A Jack to A King" ...because, he said, that's what our boys are listening to over there... "And we have to honor them!" Then he'd start singing it. I don't listen to that song today without thinking about him, and what an asset he was for our class.
On Memorial Day, I'll post "From A Jack to A King" on Facebook in his memory, and of course, to our boys who went to Vietnam.
