Bill lived in the Virgin Islands for a number of
years, running restaurants, bars, and construction companies.
The manager of a hotel where his current wife
worked told me he had died in San Juan, Puerto Rico in July 2010 of heart ailments.
(This comes from Ray Poston)
(from Bills daughter Allison)
Hi, Ray,
Thanks so much for the Tribute e-mails! I needed a good laugh.
My mom is actually from Dallas. She went to North Dallas
High School.
[Bill’s first wife is Nancy Womack ’68.
Allison's mom is Wife # 2. There is a Third.]
Yeah, my dad was quite a character..lol I do miss him a lot.
There is actually six of us kids. There is Melissa who is 41,
Eric 40, me 33, Kristin 29, Ryan 25, and Lauren 23.
Actually, I do have some photos of my father and Bobby on
my Facebook page and some of us kids. If you want, you can
either go to my page or I can send them via e-mail. Just let me
know. :)
I found only one photo of Bobby [Liles ‘69]...I'm trying to get
more. In the photo [ATTACHMENT # 6, Bobby at left], he is
standing with his brother Johnny and sister Tandolyn.

I did not know Bill "The Still" personally. I knew him only
through an exchange of e-mails from 2004-2006 when he
submitted questions, sent answers, and provided funny
stories about Loboland and his recent escapades, to
Lobo Trivia contests I orchestrated.
Bill became quite the worldwide adventurer, hunting
lions on safari in Africa, riding elephants in Thailand,
twice attempting to climb the Himalayas, and paddling
a canoe down the Amazon river...yet somehow driving
into a windmill 200 yards off the highway north of Pecos.
Bill recommended that I read Herman Wouk's funny
novel Don't Stop the Carnival---which I did---and said
its quirky island-living mishaps closely mirrored his life
on St. Thomas. He had managed to build 5-star hotels
regardless of the obstacles.
He was very proud of his life and wife.
I've compiled some of the things The Still sent. It's a
few pages in length, and it might be hard to follow without
knowing the context of the Trivia questions, but his hijinx
are worth it.
If any classmate would like to read his global experiences,
running conversations, and escapades with Lobo buddies
while in high school, shoot me an e-mail, and I'll reply
with the compilation.
Prepare to laugh at some of the funniest stories to
come out of Monahans.
