Carolynne Mifsud-Ellul Gilbert - Passed Away

Carolynne Gilbert
October 12, 1971 - February 7, 2013

With her loving husband, Chris, and adoring sons Colby and Chanse, mother, Dianne and brother; Michael at her side Carolynne Gilbert took her rightful place in Heaven on February 7, 2013. It was eight years and 5 days since her first breast cancer diagnosis. She never lost hope and never stopped fighting. She has shown rare and amazing strength, courage and determination.

Born October 12, 1971, to her loving mother Dianne Harner. Carolynne was raised in Montesano, Wash. She attended Montesano High School where she began her running career. She attended North Idaho Junior College (NIC) on a running scholarship where she met her beloved husband, Christopher Gilbert. After completing her freshman year at NIC Carolynne and Chris continued their running careers at the University of Portland where Carolynne earned her Teaching Degree.

Carolynne married Chris on May 5, 1994 . They have two wonderful boys, Colby Gilbert age 17 and Chanse Gilbert age 14.

Carolynne was a natural born teacher, wise beyond her years. She was an avid runner, enjoyed sports, the outdoors, crafting and spending time with friends. In recent years she found peace and solace in her Yoga Practice.

Carolynne was a caring joyful person full of optimism and hope. She will be missed by everyone who new her.

She is survived by her husband, Chris; her boys, Colby and Chanse; her mother and father, Dianne and Gary Harner; her brother ,Michael Pauley; father and mother-in-law, Pat and Nancy McGuire; and many other family members who were influential in her life.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Southridge Community of Christ Church located at 400 NE 179th St Ridgefield, Wash. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to: Carolynne Gilbert Memorial Fund 507 NE 99th St #6 Vancouver, WA 98665.
