Thomas Campbell Nolan - Class Of 1970

Thomas Campbell Nolan III “Tommy”, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 18, 2023, after a prolonged battle with his cardiac health.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Thomas Campbell Nolan Jr. “Buddy” and Carolyn Robinson Nolan, and sister, Ruth Corrigan Nolan. He is survived by his wife Nita Moore Nolan; sister Carolyn deLay Nolan “Tara” of Auburn; five children: Lorri Nolan Simpson (Fred), Rick Nolan, Amanda Nolan McCallum (Patrick), Thomas Campbell Nolan IV “Buddy” and Loni Foster Davis. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, extended family, and many, many friends.

He was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and spent his childhood and adult life in Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated in 1970 from Sidney Lanier High School and Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in 1974. He was a City Planner with the City of Montgomery for over 30 years until retirement.

He devoted decades of his life to prison and jail ministry, worked with the Gideons, and was a Kairos minister and an Amaeus sponsor. He was a devoted student of the Bible for many, many years and actively attended a men’s Bible study group comprised of beloved brethren for over 30 years. He was a writer, musician, and poet and passed on his love of music to his children and grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 pm.
