Frances Marcile Forrester, 81, of Gulf Shores, Alabama passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Marci graduated from Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama. She then obtained her Diploma of Nursing in 1963 from Saint Margaret’s Nursing School in Montgomery and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977 from the University of Hawaii.

Marci served the country in the United States Army Nurse Corps from 1977 to 1999 before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was an avid choir member and a LIFE team leader. She was also a licensed dog show judge with the American Kennel Club and judged shows worldwide. She served the Dachshund Club of America as a former senior officer and board member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Raymond Helton, Jr. and Frances Colleen Machen Helton; her brother, Ernest Raymond Helton, III; her husband of 50 years, James A. Forrester; and her granddaughter, Faith Forrester.

Her children survive her, Amy Lynn Skidmore and her husband Greg, Kevin Scott Forrester and his wife Myra, and James Patrick Forrester and his wife Becky; her grandchildren, Caitlin Vidalier, Devon Mouton, Christian Skidmore, Timothy Forrester, Michelle Forrester, Drew Forrester and his wife Christina, Matthew Forrester, and Megan Forrester; and her great-grandchildren, Karma, Carson, Kinley, and Declan.

In place of flowers, please donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Frances H. Forrester.

A visitation for Marci will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A chapel service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Leak Memory Chapel at 10:00 AM.
