Do you guys remember that great game Mr. Farino came up with for ?Social Studies? where we learned about stocks and thee stock market?  Remember how we followed the markets ups and downs?  I remember specifically about the computer companies, IBM and Apple, and I often wonder if Farino struck it rich on the boom in the 90s.  Looking back, and having children that have been through those grades already, I think that he was a brilliant teacher.  I think we were very fortunate to have him.

I also remember that, but I guess I thought it was for Math class, as it dealt with fractions (which I hated!).  We had groups and got to pick our own stocks.  My group's name was "Savinci" and I think it was Val, Missy and maybe Alison, and I?

Last I knew, Mr. Furino was working at Grant Wood AEA, possibly in the tech area?

Grant Wood as a tech?  Maybe he didn't hit it rich as I had always imagined!?  Maybe it was math.  That would explain why I never fully understand what was going on! HA!   Regardless, I felt I learned a lot from him.

Kerri do you remember our group in Mr. Furino's class? I think it was called Keramcy. You, me, & Jamie I think were together.

I have to agree Mr. Farino was probably one of the best teachers. He used new innovative learning techniques. I thought of his teaching strategies as I have been taking my classes for my Master Degree to teach nursing education. One of the teaching strategies we have discussed is playing games such as Jeopardy and etc. I believe in the early 80's these techniques would have been new and innovative. Today we have additional techniques with new technology. I remember Mr. Farino being the one to begin introducting us to computers.

Oh my gosh, Anita, how did you remember the name of our group?!  It reminded me that the name came from some Givenchy jeans I had.  Remember our reading class of you, Rodd, Bryan, & I?  We would goof off when Mr. Furino was busy with the rest of the class!
