I didn't get to see Steve much over the last 40 years but when I saw him at the reunion a couple of years ago, he was the same guy I knew in high school. He always had a smile on his face and a good sense of humor to go with it. It was fun conversing with him on FB over the last few years and I remarked to him right before he took ill the last time when he was on the Navajo reservation in Arizona that it was a strange place to be when the Panthers were playing in the playoffs. But work called and he was always dutiful.
Steve fought so hard to beat his cancer. I know how badly he wanted to see his grand daughters grow up. As he fought he was called "the Hulk". He kept his humor, as he would descibe what he was going through. A few years back we met for drinks ( in Davey's of course). He told me how he and his wife lived life to the fullest. Family was everything to him. RIP to our classmate Steve, and God Bless his family
