Being forced to take French with - Holly Smolly.  Now I wished I was fluent in Spanish. Hey Helen - Quel âge avez-vous? (don't know the exact spelling - "how old are you?") but we would always have to say that following Bonne Fête (Happy Birthday)

Scary McGarry - and getting your name on the board - with possibly check marks for repeating an offense.

Mr Anderson's/Peters - Math Quizzes - and not being able to go outside until you were off the 'checklist'.  I can still make the AA signature that would pass his inspection.  You just had to buy a green pen.

Mr Anderson's beat up old brown chevy pickup.

Getting drunk with Smitty in Aspen, CO last year at Bob Wilson's wedding (long funny stories).  I still hurt just thinking about it.

Hiding the best floor hockey sticks in the room next to the gym.

Don Edwards - the best custodian you could ever ask for - how about him being able to smoke inside the school.

The Jones' Family dog - Freckles - quite possibly the laziest dog ever.

The Monkey Hills.

Getting kicked out of shop class at Colborne St (Mr Christiansen is still an ass in my books - I have to hire someone to do any and every woodworking project around the house).  I can still make a mean chocolate macaroon though!

Putting a pile of white glue on a napkin during art class - and peeling it from your fingers when you were done.

Billy Fox - anyone know where he is?  I remember him on top of the snow hill - and he had his arms in the air like he was Rocky - when Jason Bourdage plowed him from the side - basically knocking him unconscious.  He got up and finished the day at school - but I think his dad had to pick him up in the tow truck by the end of the day.

Soccer baseball - how stupid was that -

Well actually, just slightly worse than playing Ringette.

Losing the 'square' ball to the roof of the school, and the custodian only retrieving all of them one day a week.  But it was cool seeing someone walk around on the roof - and telling them that every ball he found was yours.

Mr Lightfoot and his difficulty with S's - or finishing almost every word with 'aauughh'.

The smell of 'Ditto paper' - that could not have been good for us.

More later.....

I ended up with a French roommate in Jasper Alberta and STILL know only BONJOUR

Scary McGarry - and getting your name on the board - with possibly check marks for repeating an offense.

I don't remember this - I must have been an ANGEL

Mr Anderson's/Peters - Math Quizzes - and not being able to go outside until you were off the 'checklist'.  I can still make the AA signature that would pass his inspection.  You just had to buy a green pen.

Damn, if I had only knew you had the signature down - I never was allowed out - I think I spent both those years looking at question # 10!! Damn Anderson - I still can't help my kids out with those "If 2 trains are travelling...."

Mr Anderson's beat up old brown chevy pickup. - Didn't this thing burn up in the school parking lot??

Getting drunk with Smitty in Aspen, CO last year at Bob Wilson's wedding (long funny stories).  I still hurt just thinking about it.

Hiding the best floor hockey sticks in the room next to the gym.

Don Edwards - the best custodian you could ever ask for - how about him being able to smoke inside the school. Yeah, how's that!!  No wonder I smoke! my parents smoked in the house, and the school was full of it - I don't think I have had a fresh breath of air since birth - damn them!! -

The Jones' Family dog - Freckles - quite possibly the laziest dog ever.

Oh good old Freckles - she was the best dog EVER!

The Monkey Hills. - and the king hills

Getting kicked out of shop class at Colborne St (Mr Christiansen is still an ass in my books - I have to hire someone to do any and every woodworking project around the house).  I can still make a mean chocolate macaroon though!
Mr. Christiansen hitting his head on the lathe after kicking Lori out of shop - I still love the sound of a saw!!!
Putting a pile of white glue on a napkin during art class - and peeling it from your fingers when you were done.  Weirdo - I don`t remember that - ;-)
Billy Fox - anyone know where he is?  I remember him on top of the snow hill - and he had his arms in the air like he was Rocky - when Jason Bourdage plowed him from the side - basically knocking him unconscious.  He got up and finished the day at school - but I think his dad had to pick him up in the tow truck by the end of the day.

Good Old Billy - I think his Dad came to my Dad`s funeral but that was the last I heard.  Anyone on the fire department -  as I am sure we can find Billy`s family that way.

Soccer baseball - how stupid was that -  that was for the one`s who were afraid of the ball - me !! haha

Well actually, just slightly worse than playing Ringette. - stupid, stupid, stupid

Losing the 'square' ball to the roof of the school, and the custodian only retrieving all of them one day a week.  But it was cool seeing someone walk around on the roof - and telling them that every ball he found was yours. - Amazing how cool roof ball day was!

Mr Lightfoot and his difficulty with S's - or finishing almost every word with 'aauughh'.

The smell of 'Ditto paper' - that could not have been good for us. - The reaction must have been so strange for the teacher - handing out work and kids grabbing it up to SMELL the paper

More later.....I am impressed with your memeories Mr. Selman...anyone else..

  • Been thinking of some other memeories - Breaking my arm in grade 3 - that sucked.  I still have days where I wonder if my fork is in the proper hand lol
  • Grade 4 trip to the Detroit Zoo
  • Mr. Buniak`s bad jokes - at least he tried!!
  • Mr. McGee - may he rest in peace as well - just a nice man!
  • Mrs. Munday yucking me by the ear for one reason or another haha. Sorry to hear she has passed, but she has sorted out many young kids back in the day!
  • trying to play on the huge snow hill the arena dumped out back
  • Play day - and all the weird games
  • When computers first came to school - we were the guinea pigs of the computer era
  • I suppose most of you have kids that go to Mooretown - how about some photos!
  • The courtright dock!
  • Skating days at the arena
  • Realizing now that we went to a great school with great people!  It is very different as my kids are in private school - which is great, but certainly a lot less of  a `family atmosphere` that we grew up in.
  • Chocolate bar sales!!!!
  • Scholastic book orders - this was my all time favourite!! Still spending hundreds on Scholastic book orders for my kids today - I think by the end of it, I could send one child to university based on the money scholastic has received from me!!
  • I know this did not happen in Public school, but I still remember till this day Bryan`s funeral.  It was the day the Mooretown crew came back together for the right reason.  I am proud to know Bryan was a part of the crew that brought us together in life and in spirit.
