I am deeply saddened by the death of Matt. I met Matt in Miss Miller's first grade class at Lincoln Grade School and over the years got to know his sister, mom, and dad. Great family.

I can close my eyes and see him right now kicking a kick ball onto to the roof of Lincoln and running around the bases with his hands up.

I don't even know what to say. My Mom forwarded the obit to me today, and I had a hard time believing it could be true.
Matt was one guy that never really changed, from grade 1 through grade 12, and I mean that in the best possible way.
A natural athlete & competitor, and a tough guy to not like...doesn't surprise me that he ended up working in sales, he could be quite the politician. I remember him talking himself out of all sorts of trouble with Mrs. Smith, in 3rd grade I believe....pretty impressive for a 9 yr. old.
Maybe I'll dig out the our senior year "Battle Of The Bands" video, with Matt singing a little Whitesnake, while Scott Klopfenstein, Tim Slack, & I backed him up. Good times....we'll miss you, man.

I just found out about Matt today. The thing that I remember most about Matt is how he could make situations better by just being Matt, and his incredible sense of humor. I have recently told my children some of the crazy things in football practice Matt used to do. What a shame to loose such a great person.
