Carson was one of my best friends through high school and the years after. He and his dad provided employment for many of us on the family G-truck, a rite of passage. Hard work mixed with a lot of laughs.
Carson had a gruff exterior but that was all a facade. He had a huge heart and hilarious sense of humor. He kept his many acts of charity and kindness under wraps. He frequently donated money to the Ukrainian Church for their food pantry, delivered Meals On Wheels and many other charity efforts through the Lions Club, and was a huge help to my mother during the worst days of her life when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. He and Kevin Jones delivered a hospital bed to our house so she could stay home as long as possible. He and Kathleen, his partner in life, also arranged wonderful home care for her until it became impossible to stay at home. At that point, Carson and Kevin arranged a place for her at St. Catherine's nursing facility at the old Ashland Hospital, where my mother was given loving, thoughtful care through the last days of her life.
The last time I saw Carson was in April, 2018, when we learned our good friend and classmate Jack Hombosky was also disagnosed with brain cancer. Carson drove his truck to see Jack and his wife Madeleine out in Pittsburgh, with Kevin and I tagging along. His concern for Jack was heartfelt and I treasure the driving time going out and returning sharing hours of stories and laughs. Sadly Carson passed a few months later at his home, on his 62nd birthday.
Kevin and Hugh Jones wrote a wonderful obituary for Carson in the News-Item declaring him a Mt. Carmel "Success Story". Truer words were never written. God bless Carson - I look forward to seeing him again at the 1974 Class Reunion in the great beyond.

Warren was not only my classmate but my boss for awhile at his business, Family Home Medical. He was a great person and he will be missed!
