David N. Amsden '57 passed away 3/18/2017.
North Augusta, SC--David Norman Amsden, 78, of Hammond Place Circle, North Augusta, SC, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2017.
Mr. Amsden was a native of Northfield, MA where he attended both Northfield Mount Hermon School and Northfield High School. After graduating, he served his country in the US Navy and then attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He raised his family in Killingworth, CT where he worked for Rossi Corporation for more than 20 years and was a soloist in the church choir.
Mr. Amsden is survived by his sister Patty Artz and his brother Craig Amsden (both of Milton-Freeman, OR), as well as his four loving children: Juli Amsden of Holland, NY, Heather Amsden of Newton, MA, Mary Catherine Amsden of Hickory Flat, MS, and David M. Amsden of Burlington, VT. A wonderful and gregarious grandfather of six , he will be remembered for his beautiful tenor singingvoice, his ever-present sense of humor, his love of golf and his devotion to the Red Sox and Giants.
His children and grandchildren will always cherish the memories of their annual summer vacations with him to Cape Hatteras, NC. Mr. Amsden made North Augusta his home for the past twenty years and leaves behind many friends including his beloved, Prudence Tuggle.
Services will not be held per the request of the deceased but letters of condolence can be sent to The Amsden Family, 191 Canada Street, Holland, NY 14080. Mr. Amsden's ashes will be interred next to his father and grandfather in Jamaica, VT.
