Wife 44 years Lenora Shaw; three daughters Debbie, Jodi & Sandy, all college graduates before getting married; five grandchildren
It was an adventure in 1954, traveling by train from Cleveland, Ohio, to Mt. Hermon, as a young boy 15 years old, walking up the long driveway, meeting the guys, and getting started with classes and sports.
Mount Hermon was a great experience. I transferred to New Prep in Cambridge for my senior year and went on to the University of Michigan, where I went wild at fraternity parties. That was short-lived, and went on to Shimer College in Illinois for two years and on to Ohio State University; married and moved to California and finished college at San Jose State in advertising.
I worked in New York City in advertising for a short time and moved back to Cleveland and then moved to San Diego, California; where we spent 20 years working in residential real estate sales and commercial leasing. I also commuted to Monterey County during the mid 1970s and 80s doing shopping center development. We moved to Monterey County in the early 1990s to handle it all.
We live in a sun belt near a golf club and enjoy being close to our daughters and their husbands. The five grandchildren are wonderful to play with.
I’m still developing centers and trying to avoid retirement. My wife was a math teacher in junior high school and just retired; so the pressure is on me to start traveling and retire.
I hope you will come out sometime and visit Monterey, Carmel and Pebble Beach; and play a round of golf or enjoy the sites and beach. We have a couple of extra bedrooms. You can fly into Monterey or San Jose, rent a car, drive down and stay with us. Give us a call or drop us a line.
