School Story:
[From 50th Reunion Yearbook...]
B.A. Skidmore, 1961
Karen was an employment counselor at Senior Services of Alexandria. She matched thousands of older Alexandrians with jobs, full- and part-time. But her life calling was her family.
Husband: Alfred Duncker, married 1960-1999.
Sons John (45) and James (43). Daughter Carolina Duncker Carlson (39). One grandson, now age 4 ½.
Karen as remembered by her husband, Alfred:
Karen valued her education, classmates, work experience and memories. Of particular significance was a dorm “mother” whose name (Ms. Briggs or something like that) escapes me, her chairing the church cabinet, and her selection as May Queen. It was a blessing to me that she attended Skidmore where I was her first (blind) date and then her husband. I almost forgot. She treasured the Sacred Concerts. The enclosed picture dates from 1998 and was taken outside National Presbyterian Church in D.C.
