It is with deep regret that the Charlotte Fire Department has lost one of its firefighters this morning. Firefighter II, Brian "Scott" Carrigan 35, joined the department on November 29, 2000 and was promoted to the rank of FF-II in July 2004. Scott's career was spent as a dedicated member of the Charlotte Fire Department's Hazardous Material Team assigned to Station 13-B on Glenwood Drive. Also, Scott volunteered with the Belmont Fire Department reaching the rank of Lieutenant.
March 18, 2006 Scott was admitted to Gaston Memorial Hospital with a severe sudden illness to which he succumbed. Scott leaves behind a wife and two young boys. Funeral arrangements were handled by McLean Funeral Home at 515 N Central Ave Belmont, NC. Please keep Charlotte Firefighter Carrigan's family in your thoughts and prayers.

Scott and I went to church together and in Jr. High we were sweethearts for awhile. He was my first kiss. I went to his funeral....it was so sad. His boys go to school with my son so I see his memory living on.Love and miss you Scott
