MOUNT HOLLY - Julie Abernathy Ledford, 35, died Sept. 13, 2008, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.
She was a native of Gaston County, a daughter of Roger Burke Abernathy and Donna Paulk Abernathy.

INTERMENT: Church cemetery
Julie received her bachelor of science degree from Western Carolina University and bachelor of arts from Belmont Abbey College. She was a business teacher at East Gaston High School where she was loved by her students and fellow teachers. She was a lifelong member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and is dearly missed.
SURVIVORS: In addition to her parents, her newborn son, Ayden Burke Abernathy Rick; her brother, Paul Burke Abernathy of Belmont; her sister and brother-in-law, Leigh and Michael Herman of Bessemer City; nephews, Matthew Herman and Austin Graves; niece, Emily Herman; aunts and uncles, Gayle and Herman Eaker of Flat Rock, L. Frank Abernathy, Lanny and Vickie Jenkins; Marvin and Jody Paulk; C.P. and Debbie Small, all of Mount Holly; special friend, Bobby Rick
