BELMONT -- Jessica Ruth Earley, 21, 802 Cathedral Drive, died May 23, 2003 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Born in Spruce Pine, she was the daughter of Kathy Honeycutt Earley of the home and Forrest Earley of Morganton. She was a member of Forest Pointe Community Church; a member of Belmont Women's Club; and a volunteer with the North Carolina National Guard Family Program. A graduate of East Gaston High School where she was captain of the color guard. She was a rising senior at Appalachian State University where she was a Public Relations major and minor in Sociology; a member of the Dean's List; a member of the ASU Marching Band; and member of the music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota.
In addition to her parents, survivors include maternal grandmother, Patsy Nichols Honeycutt of Gastonia; paternal grandparents, Wallace and Louise Earley of Lake Lure; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Thomas E. Honeycutt.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Ray Hardee, 12:00 Noon, Tuesday at South Point Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens cemetery, Mount Holly.
Pallbearers will be members of the NCNG Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 at the funeral home, 515 N. Central Avenue, Belmont, NC.
