OBITUARY -
Chantaphone "Gee" Dary, 24, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 8:38am on Friday, April 9, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. The funeral service will be at 1pm on Tuesday, April 13 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, followed by a funeral procession to the crematory in Burlington. Visitation will be from 11am to 8pm today at the funeral home. There will be no family visitation.
Mr. Dary was born on November 15, 1979, in Laos, the son of Sone and Chanpheng Baythavong Dary. He came to the United States with his parents in 1980. He was a 1998 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School, earned an associates degree from Hamilton College and was a supervisor at Access Direct of Iowa City.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends. They meant very much to him and his nephew Tyler. He worked on cars and enjoyed soccer.
Survivors include his parents of Mt. Pleasant, a brother, Phetsamone "Mao" Dary of Altoona; a sister Chantasone "Channy" Dary of Norwalk; his maternal grandmother, Bounmy Baythavong of Laos; his paternal grandfather, Souk Dary of Chicago, IL; and his paternal step-grandmother, Kristina Dary of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and maternal grandfather.
