OBITUARY -

Jeremy Lee Himes, 25, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, March 4, 2005, at his home.  The graveside funeral service will be later this week at Bethel Cemetary in Sheridan, Ark.  Visitation will be from noon to 9pm today at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 6 to 7pm.  A memorial has been established to Joshua and Heather Himes Educational Fund.

Mr. Himes was born July 23, 1979, in Little Rock Ark.  The son of Gaylon Boyd Styers and Theresa Elizabeth Dorsey.  He moved to Mt. Pleasant as a teenager.  He was a 1998 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School.  He worked at McDonald's Restaurant in high school and at Wal-Mart Distribution Center and DT's Tattoos after graduation. 

He love animals and had many kinds including several exotic pets.  He was most attached to Ozzie, his purebred pug.  He and Ozzie participated in an experimental program designed to train dogs to assist individuals.  He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, music and collecting Beatles memorabilia.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Theresa Himes and Bob Gringerich of Mt. Pleasant; his father, Gaylon Styers of Arkansas; a brother, Joshua Himes of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Heather Himes of Mt. Pleasant; his grandparents, Boyd and Norma Dorsey and Elmer and Thelma Styers, all of Mabelvale, Ark. and a special friend, Marcia Hartman; and her daughters, Kellie and Kourtney Hartman.

I miss you, Jeremy. I'll never forget the great times we had together. You were a true friend and a great person. I'm sad that you are no longer with us but I always smile when I think of you.
