[December 06, 2010] LINCOLN -- Matthew J. Malin, 49, of Lincoln, formerly of Galena, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, after a short battle with cancer.

No services are scheduled. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements
Matt was born on June 22, 1961, a son of Peter and Marilynne Collins Malin.
Matt is survived by his mother, of Galena; his fiancée, Lisa Hill of Lincoln; his son, Collin Malin, and Collin's mother, Carrie Lynn Miller, of Scales Mound; two brothers, Michael (and Barbara) Malin of Algonquin and Mar (and Glenda) Malin of Chicago; one sister, Michelle (and Taras) Hazek of Marengo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
