Does anyone remember Mike from High School? I think his brother Jeff had to follow one of the best basketball coaches Wake has ever had (Prosser), who coached students like Tim Duncan and Chris Paul. When I visited Ryan at Wake, you would always hear that Coach Bzedelik was from Prospect. I was so saddenned that Mike had passed away. Prayers of peace for Jeff .
Mike (Buzzer) was a very good basketball player and one of the best one on one or two on two players on the team. He and I didn't have much in common except basketball and the fact that we lived close to each other. We would play one on one on each others driveway year round, often shoveling off the snow in order to play. Sometimes Jeff would join us. Jeff was a pure shooter and actually coached the Denver Nuggets for a season before Wake.
I also remember how good a ballplayer Mike was.Good sense of humor too. He was very, very easy-going, so his quickness was deceptive. He was really understated about his abilities--never made a big deal about them--and he was always ready to make suggestions in a nice way. Very sad.
Mike and I road bikes everywhere during high school. Taking Day long rides even into the city. When we had a senior party at a lake up north Mike and I rode our bikes (even tho we could have drove). Really fun guy. Great at basketball and a Great Friend.
Used to play hoops with him at the YMCA. He dribbled it thru and between my legs once. only person that pulled that off on me. He was very fast and clever with ball and if you didn't play him tight he's sink bombs endlessly. Agree he was always understated in his abilities.
I did not know MIke in high school, but he married my cousin Christine Gluth from Lombard; their two sons are now public servants as a police officer and a firefighter/paramedic.

Mike was great in basketball in his own right. Made me look bad every day in JV basketball practice with Coach Syzmanski!
