What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest memory, favorite memory, least favorite memory, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)?
I had no idea our class was so large. I am shocked to realize how few people I knew. I was a new freshman (coming from Lake Zurich Jr. High). I moved around a lot as a kid, so I was lucky to have stayed in HS for all 3 1/2 years.
Loving my family!
Deadbeat parents!! If you are a partner in a child - you damn well better take responsibility for that/those child/children!! And if you didn't or haven't - you better make it right!!
Have you done something you told yourself you wouldn't?
YES....Hitch Hiked! I always said I would never do that.....but I did once with Jan Herman, MarLen Kaiser and a few others. And it was in a van no less! I was the first one in (so naturally the last one out!). Scariest thing I've ever done, amazed I am still alive (grateful though). Have preached to my children and everyone I know to NEVER hitch hike! I hope I made a point!!
We lived up at a gold mine in Idaho for awhile. Outhouse, had to pump our water, hunt for our food, bake bread and pies daily (yuck), no electricity (candles & lanterns). Jim loved it, I couldn't stand it. We moved back to Illinois shortly after that experience!! YAY!! Oh and we never panned any gold either.
I am deeply saddened to give you this sad news I found out today. Joann Herman passed away around 1995. She left behind a daughter, Melissa. Melissa was 19 or 20 when Joann passed away. I spoke with Joann’s brother, Richard today.
