In Memory

Richard Wayne Porter

Grandpa Dick was and still is an inspiration to me.  I remember many fishing and camping trips.  He took me to baseball games as well.  In my professional life I think often of him when I have a challenging decision and I try to think what would he have done at Porter Printing.  One of the things I admired about Grandpa Dick is I felt like he and Grandma Becky would always challenge me when they felt I was not doing what I should.  They did not look the other way but put me in my place.  They never really had to be harsh because when they said something I always listened even if it did not seem as so to them.

I often regret that Granpa did not get the opportunity to meet my kids because I know they would have loved him as much as I did.  Phillip would have loved fishing and camping with him.  I would bet anything that even as stone faced as our oldest, Morgan can be that he could have brought a smile to her face.  I also wish he could seen my success professionally because many times along the way his memory has pushed me to do better then I would have without his influence.
