It was with great sadness that Shawna shared the news with us in late 2014 that Mike had passed away.  There were a large number of classmates who recounted their many memories of their interactions with Mike while growing up.  The comments were unanimous that Mike treated everyone as a friend, and went out of his way to be sure that everyone he was around was treated well in his presence - a testament to Mike's great character as a human being.
