Jeanne Gale Little

1959 - 2008

Jeanne Little of Muskogee died at home Friday morning October 24th , 2008 following a long battle with cancer. Jeanne was born August 30th, 1959 to Jimmie and Deloris Smith.

Jeanne’s greatest pride and joy in life was the blessing of Motherhood. She greatly valued her relationship with her daughter Rey-Lynn and was happiest sharing time with family and friends.

Jeanne was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed with the Veterans Medical Center. She enjoyed wonderful rapport with patients; however, she was very disappointed when unable to work due to cancer treatment. When unable to work at the hospital, she enjoyed volunteer work. She volunteered with the Methodist Mission anytime she was well enough to be of service. These people represented a wonderful and loving church family for her. She loved being of service and the privilege of working with these people. Thanks to each of you for being there for her. Many times, you were her strength when treatment was tough. Jeanne was also a great animal lover and wishes to thank Donna, Cindy and Amanda for the loving care her “Amy” received while she was away taking treatment. Your kindness was appreciated.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her father Jimmie Smith. She is survived by her daughter Rey-Lynn of the home, her mother Deloris Wallis and her husband Gene, Two brothers Donald Smith, Jimmie Smith and his wife Linda. She is also survived by four sisters and their husbands; Bill and Dianna Hull, Bill and Deborah White, Joe and Sandra McLain, and Allen and Lorrie Richey. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and her very, very special long term friend Dr. Tim Synar. Jeanne would want to express her gratitude and appreciation to Tim for all those wonderful years of caring, friendship and trust.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 27th 2008 at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Wayne Schuett officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jon McLain, Joe W. McLain, Billy Hull and Justin Cawvey. Memorial service arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Muskogee Cremation & Funeral Service, 1325 N. York, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
