 Mark Alan Chitwood of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the age of 47. The youngest of three children, Mark was born on June 22, 1967 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Jimmy Chitwood and Bettie McMahan Chitwood. Mark attended public schools and graduated from Muskogee High School with the class of 1985. He worked for World Acceptance Corporation as an auditor. Mark married his best friend and true love, Shelly Duree Bebee on April 7, 1989 in Muskogee. They celebrated 25 years of marriage and were blessed with one daughter, Gabi Chitwood. He was an avid OU sports fan as he attended all the home games. He was also an avid tennis player and enjoyed keeping stats for the Muskogee Rougher Football Team. Mark was an active and faithful member of Lifepoint Church where he served as a Deacon. He will always be remembered as a wonderful Christian man who loved God and his family. His greatest honor and joy was being a husband to Shelly, and father and “Dance Dad” to Gabi. Mark was loved by many and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Bettie Chitwood; and a niece, baby girl Chitwood. Mark is survived by his wife, Shelly; daughter, Gabi, both of the home; brother, Rick Chitwood; sister, Tammy Venable and husband, Dwayne, all of Muskogee; nieces, Lynzee Chitwood, Tori Venable, Jessi Venable, Melissa Bebee, and Halle Bebee; nephews, Preston Bebee, Landon Bebee, and Hayden Bebee; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Brenda Bebee; brother-in-law, Gene Bebee and wife Melody; uncles, aunts, cousins, other family members and many friends. Funeral services celebrating Mark’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 3, 2014 at Muskogee First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Guy Parrish, Rev. Jack Manley, and Pastor Gene Bebee Jr officiating. Interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Steve Radonavich, Jack Reavis, Jeff Howell, Phillip Copeland, Kurtis Rowan, and Jackie Sallee serving as pallbearers.
