Raymond Dean Crooks, 48 of Muskogee, passed away Wednesday evening, November 11, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raymond was born January 22, 1967, in Topeka, Kansas to Larry and Donna (Fish) Crooks. At an early age, his family moved from Kansas to Muskogee, where he attended Muskogee Public Schools. Raymond graduated from high school with the class of 1985.
After high school, Raymond enlisted with the United States Army. He proudly served our country with two tours of duty and received an Honorable Discharge. Raymond worked with Brock Scaffolding Company, who is subcontracted with OG&E, for several years in construction.
Raymond’s hobbies included camping and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed being around his family and friends; he considered his friends as part of his family. His children fondly remember many good times spent with their Dad, and they will miss him very much.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Crooks.
Raymond is survived by his children, Ian Crooks of Seattle, WA, Chelsey Elaine Crooks of Fort Gibson, OK and Larry Dwayne Crooks of Fort Gibson, OK; his father, Larry Crooks of Muskogee, OK; his brother, Jeff Crooks and his wife Tammy of Coweta, OK; several cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 20, 2015, at Fort Gibson Church Of Christ with Minister Barrett Vanlandingham officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike Garr, Raymond Ballard, Scott Hammer, John Hammer, Damon Beckers, Brent Hoffman and Tommy Ballard. Interment will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
